Affordable health insurance is now the theme of the struggle of American politicians. They tried hard to make health insurance issue as one of their political platform. Network news media, MSN, FOX News all play up or down, depending on their viewpoint.
Actually today has lots of ideas about health care. However, in reality the problem of affordable health insurance remains a problem many people and it is real. In fact, getting worse every year.
One popular myth in the United States about health is that most of those without insurance are illegal immigrants, or unemployed. This of course is not true because just a myth ..
In fact, the Coalition of National Health has found that nearly eighty percent of those insured in the United States are citizens, and eighty percent of them came from working class families. During 2006, more than 90 percent of the population, or nearly five million people, is a type without health insurance for at least part of the year. Now that the higher unemployment rate, the figure is also greater.
Affordable Health Insurance for All
America is a world leader. Why nothing is done to ensure affordable health insurance for our working families? If you work just to get by, then you usually make too much to qualify for Medicaid. Stay at home and the welfare of the picture so you can have health insurance does not make sense to most people, and budget problems at the state level to make that difficult, too.
Young adults with the age of twenty-four may not provide health care think twice. They are the group most likely population without health plans. There are families that earn more than $ 50,000 per year and also do not have insurance, even when offered by their employers, because they are unable to pay the premium. If a family get that kind of money can not afford health insurance, how can a family get half of that can be expected to pay the health plan?
The problem is that being uninsured means that serious illness may go undiagnosed or untreated. Even something like the flu can cause complications and even death if not treated.
A person without health insurance are more likely to end up in hospital due to avoidable circumstances. Fixed costs would be about $ 3000. If people had seen a doctor, the condition could have been caught and treated before they become problems. Hospitals treating patients without insurance and cost nearly $ 34million dollars every year. Cost is added back into the public pay the hospital bills through higher. This increases the power of insurance to more people to go without.
Cheap health insurance in America needs to be discussed not only during election years. We all need to focus on it and fix it now, realistic and fair. Affordable health insurance may not be fancy, or the option for a select few. Must be affordable for all. (By Karen Eden)
